A call-out diagnostic is free for residential customers if you’re within a few miles of a Technician. If you’re further afield then Call-out and Collect & Return charges vary by distance and cost from £10 – £45.
A 1 hour at home repair is available from £59 and is charged at £35 p/h thereafter. A local Collect & Return, repair is available from £79. Drop-off repair starts at £49 and a Remote Support repair from £49. Prices exclude replacement parts. Please see our repair charges for further details.
How much does it cost to call your 0844 number?
Calling our office costs 6p per minute from a BT landline. The 0844 prefix is the cheapest of the charged 08xx numbers to call and PCREPAIR2U does not make money from your calls. We opted for an 0844 number as our services are not specific to an individual town, however, we’ve recently added the direct phone numbers of our technicians. They can be viewed at the top of the website or on our contact page
Is every PC problem fixable?
Technically yes, but here come the caveats. Components may be a little difficult or impossible to source for older machines. Also, with PCs that are suffering from multiple problems, such as damaged system files/registry files and Viruses and Malware infestation etc. the fastest and cheapest option may be to start again with a fresh install of the operating system. While such a PC is technically repairable, it may take our techs so long to make right that this option wouldn’t be financially viable to a customer. However, we’re always willing to solve the issues if a customer would rather. Note that if applicable, our technicians will always discuss a reinstall option with you prior to carrying out any repairs.
Can you fix my PC problem today?
Usually, yes especially if you telephone before 11am. Please call or contact us to describe your PC problem and a technician will be happy to provide the fastest or cheapest option according to your requirements.
Your advertisment states "no fix, no fee". Is this correct?
Yes. We back all our services with a no fix, no fee guarantee so if the problem that you’ve called us out for or contracted us to repair, (remotely or otherwise), isn’t fixed or reoccurs after the technician has left, then let us know and we’ll take care of it for free. Note that if the problem turns out to be unrelated to the original repair, then our normal charges will apply. Similarly, if a customer hasn’t followed the Tech’s advice and installed adequate Security Software when the initial problem was a malware infection, charges will also apply.
How much does call-out (at home) support cost?
A local residential call-out and diagnostic is free if you’re within a few miles of a Technician and costs between £10 – £45 further afield. At home repair is charged at £59 for the first hour and then billed at £35 per hour after that. The technician will advise you about an estimated repair time so that you can deceide how to best proceed. If keeping costs down rather than a fast repair is more important, then our Collect & Return service may be cheaper. Please, see our Repair Charges for a full price list.
Can you fix my PC problem today?
We can usually have a technician at your residence within a couple of hours after you call, especially if you call early enough in the day. Our phone lines are open from 8am – 8pm Monday to Saturday and please leave a message if the technician is temorarily busy. They’ll always call back within a 10 minutes or so.
How quickly can you get my PC back to me?
We provide 4 day, 3 day, 2 day and next day Collect, Repair and Return Services. Our 4 day service is the cheapest option at £79 plus any applicable charges for travel. We can also offer a same day, Collect & Return for an additional fee but please call before 10am if possible. View the Collect & Return page for more details or contact us to discuss your requirements.
What happens when I drop off my system with you?
We’ll check over the system and issue you with a receipt. A PCREPAIR2U technician will sign the receipt and will require your signature to authorise diagnostics and repair.
The technician will contact you after the diagnostic, which is usually the next day, to let you know the problem/s and and the cost to put it right.
If you’re happy to proceed then we’ll repair it and contact you again to arrange collection. A second invoice will be issued upon payment and collection which includes a summary of the repair proceedure.
Should I also drop off my monitor, keyboard and mouse or my laptop charger?
If you’re dropping off a desktop PC, then we only require the computer and not the monitor, keyboard, mouse or any power leads. If you’re dropping off a laptop then please bring the power block and power lead with you.
