A Little History
PCREPAIR2U.CO.UK was founded in 2002 by Phil Taylor in his then home county of Cumbria and came into being after Phil had just finished a long-haul, ten year stint as a mobile measurement engineer. Phil has been fixing, building and occasionally blowing up computers since the distant days of DOS, beginning in 1986 with a cobbled together, home-made system he’d built from scavenged parts and spares.
After beginning to offer computer troubleshooting and repair services in Cumbria, Phil quickly realised that their was a demand to fill the niche between the “Pizza Technicians” and the grossly overpriced and inconvenient high street repair companies.
The PC repair market was crying out for a company that could provide a higher level of knowledge and professionalism than the “backstreet and pocket-money technicians” whilst delivering keenly priced, guaranteed work, with the convenience of on or off-site support.
Co-founder, fellow ex-Metrologist and our Senior Technician, Max. Baines has now taken the reigns, allowing Phil a little more time for relaxation. Max has recently relocated to Bollington near Macclesfield, to be nearer to the hills and to help increase coverage and support in the Greater Manchester, East Cheshire, West Derbyshire and North Staffordshire areas, (Nope, just for the hills – Max), and he’s been “tinkering with technology” since the early Atari and Amiga’s arrived on the scene back in the mid 80′s, followed by a degree in Applied Physics and Computing and a career in laser measurement.
Computer Support and Personal Tuition
PCREPAIR2U now offers the whole gamut of troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenence and security services and is available for any computer issue, from Wi-Fi problems, Virus & Trojan detection and removal, Hardware installation and upgrades, software configuration, Hard Drive reformatting and Operating system reinstallations to name a few. We can also repair hardware failures off-site.
